VANATS Student Auditions
What are VANATS Student Auditions?
Each year NATS' chapters and regions host Student Adjudications (also referred to as Student Auditions), an exciting experience where singers perform and receive written feedback about their performances. At these events, singers meet and hear other singers, NATS teachers get to know their colleagues better, and everyone has the chance to hear a variety of songs.

Important updates:
Singers under 18 must be accompanied by an adult during the audition (not the teacher or accompanist).
Use of Staff Pianists is required for High Schoolers on Saturday, February 24. Teachers may asks the board for an exemption depending on specific needs of the singer. See the Student Guidebook and review Accompanist for more details.

*Singers can only do one submission (online OR in-person).
Regionals: MT and Commercial Music are online only this year. Classical and Hall Johnson are in-person. This will alternate each year.

Parking
There is no special parking such as advanced payment.
There is some on street parking but it is short term and time limits are heavily monitored.
Parking decks that are available are the Cary St Deck and the Broad St Deck. Both are about 3 blocks away, there is nothing closer. All others are reserved lots and will be ticketed.
Parking decks are $2/hour with a $16/day maximum
Charging stations are available at the Broad St. Deck.

Singers must check in at least 30 minutes before your audition
Teachers
All teachers/adjudicators are expected to attend the judges’ meeting both Friday and Saturday.
Friday: 8:15am - Concert Hall (Singleton)
Saturday: 8:45am - Concert Hall (Singleton)
Schedule
Registration Fees
Chapter dues: $25.00 (Chapter dues should be paid on the NATS national site along with national dues.)
Conference Registration Fee: $40.00 (There is no conference fee for on-line auditions)
Student Audition Fee (for each audition scheduled)
Adult, College, and Online Categories: $25
High School In-Person: $45
Substitute Judge Fee: $100.00
Judges are expected to be present for both conference days. If you cannot judge and you register students, you must pay your $40 registration PLUS your $100 substitute judge fee.
Lodging
VANATS will not be providing hotel recommendations or blocks. Use the event address to find the hotel that is the right fir for you and your students.
